Mabel E. Miller

Mrs. Mabel Eulane Miller (nee Sweatt), age 85, of Pinckneyville, IL died on Sunday, December 8, 2002 in the St. Elizabeths Hospital in Belleville, IL.
Mabel was born in Perry County, IL on October 10, 1917 the daughter of Leroy Huggins Sweatt and Louella (Marlow) Sweatt.  She married Clarence Henry Miller on January 30, 1937 in Perry County, IL and he preceded her in death on October 25, 1985.  Mabels great, great grandfather Allen Sweatt was a private in the Revolutionary War, enlisting in August, 1780 with the North Carolina Line.  In 1792 he married Nancy Evans in Wake Co. N.C. .  The Sweatt family eventually settled in McNairy County, TN. in the 1850s. 
Surviving Mabel is her son, Thomas Miller of Smithton, IL, two grandchildren David and Steven, two great grandchildren, Ashley and Britney Miller, and several nieces and nephews.  Those that preceded her in death include a daughter, Marilyn in 1938, her brothers and sisters, Homer, Harry, James Buddy Scott, Mrs. Irene (Walter) Feltmeyer, and Mrs. Bessie (Rollie) Moore.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 12, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. in the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, IL with Monsignor Harry Jerome officiating.  Interment was in the St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation was at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, December 12, 2002 from 8:00 a.m. till services.
Memorials may be made to the St. Bruno Cemetery Association.
